NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Angelina Hobart, 96, of Apt. 8C, St. Joseph's Court, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on June 28, 1912, a daughter of Domenico and Marie Antonia Perretta Mastroianni, she was educated in local schools, including the former St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Hobart worked at the former Williamstown Nursing Home, now Williamstown Commons, before retiring in 1984. She had been employed by the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. on Union St. for 30 years and by the former J.J. Newberry Store on Main Street. She also worked at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif., and the May Co. in Los Angeles.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Her husband, John Fred Hobart, whom she married Nov. 23, 1935, in St. Anthony's, died Jan. 5, 1960.
She leaves a son, Frederick Simon Hobart of Adams; two daughters, Mary A. Carter of San Antonio and Joan O'Brien of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; two sisters, Olympia "Lee" Lupo of Adams and Katherine "Kate" Collier of Santa Monica, Calif.; four grandchildren, Mark John Hobart, Carolyn Peaslee, Christopher Carter and Daniel Sebanc, eight great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a sister and three brothers, Lucy Mastroianni, the Rev. Erminio Mastroianni, Jordan Mastroianni and Frank "Chi Chi" Mastroianni.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services are Saturday, Nov. 8, at 11 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 64 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will be at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There will be no calling hours.
Omission of flowers requested; memorial donations are suggested for the Multiple Scelorosis Society through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
