Helen R. Harris, 86, of 546 Union St., Village East, died Monday at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on July 6, 1915, daughter of Emile J. Goyette and Nellie Shays Goyette, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Harris was employed by Sprague Electric Co. for several years. She was most recently employed by the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of North Adams.
Her husband, Gilbert Lorraine Harris, whom she married May 3, 1935, in North Adams, died Dec. 16, 1977.
She leaves a sister, Lillian Godbout of North Adams.
Funeral services will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of North Adams, with the Rev. Raymond Shoup officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, are Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the charity of the donor's choice through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. She was predeceased by a brother, John Henry Goyette.
