William Nelson Martin

William Nelson Martin, 69, of 150 Ashland St. died Friday at home after a brief illness.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 13, 1938, son of the late George and Marion Martin Martin, he graduated from Drury High School.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Martin was employed by Brown Packaging Co., retiring in 2006. Before that, he was employed as a North Adams firefighter, as a Pinkerton guard and as a certified U.S. Postal Service truck driver for R.B. Bator Trucking Co., transporting mail from Pittsfield to Springfield. He also worked for Butler Wholesale Co.
He leaves two sons, William Martin of North Adams and Richard Gilbert of Oxford; a daughter, Robin Newcomb of Auburn; and five grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours to celebrate the life of William Nelson Martin, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, will be tomorrow, Aug. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
Memorial donations are suggested in his memory through the funeral home. Mr. Martin leaves a daughter-in-law, Lisa Martin; a son-in-law, Scott Newcomb; and a longtime partner, Freda Reynolds; and five grandchildren, Matthew Daniels, Shalee Martin, and Christopher, Eric and Kevin Newcomb.
