NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lucille Lena "Totsy" Crawford, 71, of 24 Watson St. died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at North Adams Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Born in North Adams on July 14, 1936, daughter of Julien and Doris Shartrand Monette, she attended local schools, including the former St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Crawford began working at New England Telephone Co. in 1952 and worked for its successor companies, NYNEX and BellAtlantic, until her retirement in 1994. She also worked part time as a switchboard operator at North Adams Regional Hospital until 2001.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and enjoyed crafts and shopping.
Her husband, Matthew Raymond Crawford, whom she married Nov. 27, 1954, died May 28, 1991.
She leaves a son, Matthew Crawford of Dracut; two brothers, Julian Monette of Portland, Ore., and Raymond Monette of North Adams; a sister, Anita Gibeau of North Adams; two grandchildren, Shannon Zoito and Matthew David Dubie, both of North Adams; two great-grandchildren, Allison and Tessa Zoito, and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Debra Ann Dubie, died Dec. 28, 2003. Two brothers, Armand and Robert Monette, are also deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Crawford will be Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Francis' Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
