Frances Eleanor Desautels, 86, of 35 Broadway, Cohoes, N.Y., a native of North Adams, died Thursday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born on April 6, 1921, daughter of Homer L. Card and Evelina Lanoue Card Estes, she attended Drury High School and graduated from the former Bliss Business School.
Mrs. Desautels was employed by the government as a secretary for many years at the Watervliet (N.Y.) Arsenal.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church.
Her husband Henry J. Desautels, whom she married Jan. 10, 1946, died Feb. 28, 1983.
She leaves a brother, Walter E. Estes of Gardner; and two sisters, Rita M. Card Duquette Cirone and Lorraine M. Estes Saunders, both of North Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Frances E. Desautels will be Monday at 9 a.m. from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Francis' Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners' Hospital for Children through the funeral home. She also leaves an aunt, Pauline Trottier of North Adams, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, William E. Card, and by a sister, Pricilla E. Estes.
