Gladys Agnes Benoit, 85, of 267 Mohawk Forest Blvd. died Saturday at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on March 7, 1922, daughter of Joseph C. and Lydia Lefebvre Benoit, she was a longtime resident of the Blackinton section of the city. She attended the former Archer School and graduated from Drury High School in 1941.
Miss Benoit was employed by the former Wall Streeter Shoe Co. and the former Hunter Outdoor Products Co., both on Union Street. She also worked for a short time at the former Sprague Electric Co.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a former longtime communicant of Our Lady of the Incarnation Church.
She enjoyed traveling around New England and fishing with her father.
Miss Benoit leaves two cousins, Patricia Stephenson of Dalton and Eileen Brennan of Cambridge, N.Y.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Gladys Agnes Benoit, who died Saturday, June 23, 2007, will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Anthony's Church, 64 Marshall St.
Burial will be at a later date in Blackinton Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, an hour before the funeral. Donations in her memory are suggested for the charity of the donor's choice. She also leaves her caregiver, Florence Lefebvre of North Adams.
