Helen Eleanor Kordek, 87, of 19 Spring St. died Saturday at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 15, 1919, daughter of Frank and Rose Grzib Kordek, she attended schools there.
Mrs. Kordek was employed by Sprague Electric Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1982.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church, and was a member of the Sprague Electric Quarter Century Club.
She leaves a sister, Mary Mottau of Ganesvoort, N.Y.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Helen E. Kordek, who died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, will be celebrated today at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. are today from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Memorial donations are suggested for St. Francis' Church through the funeral home. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Three sisters, Bertha Mendel, Rose Fredericks and Elizabeth "Betty" Kordek, are deceased.
