Doris Elizabeth Starr

Doris Elizabeth Starr, 84, of 85 Eagle St., St. Joseph's Court, died yesterday at Providence Care Center in Lenox, where she had resided for nine years.

Born in North Adams on June 8, 1922, daughter of Alfred and Florence Charron Brosseau, she attended local schools.

Mrs. Starr was employed for many years by the former Sprague Electric Co. before becoming disabled.

She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and enjoyed playing bingo.

She leaves a daughter, Judith Rose of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Doris Elizabeth Brosseau Starr, who died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, will be Saturday at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St., North Adams.

Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested for the Patient Activity Fund at Providence Care Center in Lenox or to the Adirondack Humane Society through the funeral home. She also leaves her son-in-law, Albert Rose; three grandchildren, Thomas Rose and his wife, Michelle, Kathleen Rose Insley and her husband, Alex, and Alan Rose; and five great-grandchildren, Mitchell Starr, Morgan and Madelyn Rose, and Benjamin and Margaret Insley.

She was predeceased by six sisters and two brothers. She enjoyed Clark Gable movies and clothes with "style," and was a fan of country singer Alan Jackson.
