Mary Elizabeth Hurlbut, 65, of 85 Eagle St. died yesterday at home.
Born in North Adams on June 29, 1936, daughter of James E. and Mary Roe Hurlbut, she attended the former St. Joseph's Elementary School and was a 1954 graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School.
Miss Hurlbut was employed as a bookkeeper at the former A&P Supermarket in Williamstown for several years and, most recently, as a secretary in the development office of Williams College, retiring in 1990 after 20 years of service.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church.
She leaves two brothers, James E. Hurlbut Jr. of West Springfield and Donald W. Hurlbut of Falmouth.
The funeral will be today at 2 from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory be made to Habitat for Humanity through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
