Justin Peter Markou, 31, of 97 Summit Ave., Catskill, N.Y., a native of North Adams, died Friday at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, N.J.
Born on Dec. 20, 1974, son of Peter J. Markou and the late Beverly Hricko Markou, he attended Pine Cobble and Buxton schools.
He also attended Berkshire Community College and the former North Adams State College and was a graduate of the Recording Studio in Chillicothe, Ohio.
At the time of his death, he was self-employed as a painting subcontractor in Oakridge, N.J.
He was a member of the band Withstand in Troy, N.Y.
Besides his father, of Catskill, he leaves his stepmother, Ann Gibbons of Catskill, and his maternal grandfather, Michael Hricko of Auburn, Maine.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Justin P. Markou, who died Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, will be conducted Thursday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 at St. Anthony's Church.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 7 to 9. Donations may be made to the Louison Family Life Support Center or the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
Mr. Markou also leaves his fiancée, Jamie Barry of Oakridge, N.J.; his Aunt Ruth and Uncle Joseph Hricko; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Jason Markou; his paternal grandmother, Zoe K. Markou; and his maternal grandmother, Matilda Hricko.
