Albert Francis Dorwin, 71, of 367 Massachusetts Ave. died Saturday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 12, 1935, son of Francis B. and Edna Estes Dorwin, he attended local schools.
Mr. Dorwin was employed by Williams College in the food service department for 26 years, retiring in 2000. Before that, he worked at the former Hoosac Cotton Mill.
He was a member of First Congregational Church and enjoyed the railroad, train rides, and old music and movies.
He leaves a sister, Karen Sue Dorwin, with whom he resided, and two brothers, David G. Dorwin and Daniel L. Dorwin, both of North Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A service to celebrate the life of Albert Dorwin, who died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at 10 at First Congregational Church in North Adams by the Rev. Jill Graham, pastor.
Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPEL, will be Tuesday from 4 to 7. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
He also leaves a sister-in-law, Pamela Dorwin (Daniel); his sister's companion, Peter Candiloro; and several nieces and nephews.
