James Terrence MacIvergan

James Terrence MacIvergan, 67, of Hendersonville, N.C., died peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Kateri Residence in New York.
Born in North Adams on Oct. 16, 1938, son of the late James and Grace Walker MacIvergan, he moved to Bristol, Conn. as a small child and was a 1956 graduate of Bristol High School.
He later attended the Porter School of Design.
A long-time resident of North Carolina, he was employed at ArvinMeritor as a design engineer, retiring in 2004. Prior to that he had been a design engineer at IBM, Sikorsky Aircraft, and Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.
He enjoyed photography, bridge, antique cars, and was also a Bombay cat breeder.
Mr. MacIvergan is survived by his former wife, Donia Tyner of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Ena Stoops of Jacksonville, Fla., and Terry MacIvergan of Denver, Colo., and his sister, Laurie Perruccio of New York, with whom he lived.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Relatives and friends are invited to join the family of James MacIvergan, who died Monday, June 26, 2006, at a service on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the West Meadow Chapel, 679 Willard Ave., Newington, Conn., with interment to follow at the West Meadow Cemetery.
There are no calling hours. He also leaves Laurie's fiancé, Tom Salvo Jr.; two nieces, Lauren Norris of Miami and Carol MacIvergan of Wilmington, N.C.; and his feline "kids," Robbie, Curly, and Viper, whom he treasured and adored.
He was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Bob McIvergan. Jim had a gentle and kind heart and will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched. CITY FUNERAL SERVICES is in charge of arrangements.
