Phyllis J. (Heath) Twombly

Phyllis J. (Heath) Twombly, 64, of 25 College Ave., North Adams, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at home.

Born in Rutland, Vt., on June 10, 1941, she was the daughter of Carlisle and Evelyn (Van Guilder) Heath. She attended schools there and graduated from Mount St. Joseph’s High School in 1959.

Mrs. Twombly was employed for many years in early child development programs, including with Joanie’s Small World Nursery and Child Care of the Berkshires.

She was last employed as assistant innkeeper at the Guest House at Field Farm, South Williamstown, for the Trustees of Reservations.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s & Raphael’s Parish in Williamstown. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She and her husband, Bruce A. Twombly, were married Sept. 12, 1964, in Christ the King Church, Rutland.

Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Bernadette Bernardy and her husband, Andrew, of Williamstown, Diane Gagne and her husband, Michael, of Monrovia, Md., and Lyn Gallagher and her husband, Joshua, of North Adams; two sisters, Ann Adams and Muriel Goslee both of Prattsburg, N.Y., and seven grandchildren, Elizabeth and Katherine Bernardy, Meghan, Kristen and Alison Gagne, Kendra Piantoni and Tyler Gallagher. A brother, Thomas Heath, is deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Phyllis Twombly will take place Thursday, March 2, 10 a.m., at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 W. Main St., North Adams. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Williamstown.

Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire, American Cancer Society or the Meals Ministries at St. Patrick’s Church through the funeral home.
