W. Everett Evans, 92, of 759 Massachusetts Ave. died Saturday at home.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 23, 1913, son of Walter E. and Minnie Ludwig Evans, he graduated from Drury High School in 1932.
Mr. Evans was employed as a technician at the former Sprague Electric Co. Before that, he owned and operated his own business, the former E+M Radio, and worked for the former Arnold Print Works in Adams.
He was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church and a member of Pontoosuc and Lake St. Catherine country clubs, and Waubeeka Golf Links, and enjoyed sports, especially golf.
His wife, the former Evelyn Myers, whom he married Aug. 9, 1947, died March 14, 1996.
He leaves a brother, Howard L. Evans of North Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for W. Everett Evans will be private, for the family only. Burial also will be private. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through AUGE-SANS SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
He also leaves a niece, Sandra Evans of North Adams; a nephew, Howard E. Evans of Clarksburg, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
