Laura M. Benedetti, 78, of 325 McClure Road, Franklin, N.C., died Friday at Angel Medical Center in Franklin after a long illness.
She was a former resident of Bennington, Vt., Williamstown and North Adams.
Born in Franklin on July 8, 1927, daughter of Charles and Bertha Holland Morgan, she attended local schools. She moved to this area following her first marriage.
Mrs. Benedetti was employed by the former North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She retired in 1985 and moved back to North Carolina.
She was a member of The Lord's House in Franklin.
She and her first husband, Lawrence A. Lanoue, were married in Bennington in 1947. He died Oct. 11, 1981.
She and her husband, William G. Benedetti, were married March 24, 1984, in North Adams.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Beverly Lanoue of Pittsford, N.Y., Diane Lanoue Law of West Springfield, Pa., and Theresa Langlois of Edneyville, N.C.; a son, Ronald Lanoue of Fremont, Calif.; four stepsons, Michael Benedetti of Tyler, Texas, William James Benedetti of Moorehead City, N.C., Jeffrey Benedetti of Scarborough, Maine, and Keith Benedetti of Mashpee; five grandchildren, and eight step-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Laura Morgan Lanoue Benedetti, who died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapel, by the Rev. John Goyette of Green Mountain Christian Center.
Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hour is Thursday from 12:30 until the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Samaritan's Purse International Relief, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.
She also leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
