Marguerite "Theresa" Lapointe

Marguerite "Theresa" Lapointe, 78, of 150 Ashland St. died Thursday at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Born in Burlington, Vt., on Dec. 22, 1926, daughter of Hector and Lydia Courtois Jodoin, she attended parochial schools there.

She moved to North Adams in 1950.

She was a longtime communicant of Notre Dame Church.

Mrs. Lapointe was a receptionist at the medical office of Dr. Irving Selsby.

She and her husband, Henri R. Lapointe, were married Aug. 17, 1946, in Burlington. He died April 4, 1990.

She leaves five daughters, Marieanne Leveille of Shulerville, S.C., Emilia Pinkleton of Chesterfield, Va., Marthe Lapointe of North Adams, Lilliane Neil of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Denise Lapointe of Clifton Park, N.Y.; four sons, Michael Lapointe of Greenfield, Henri Lapointe of North Adams, Raymond Lapointe of Awendaw, S.C., and Ronald Lapointe of Mercer, Maine; four sisters, Rita Mongeon and Laurette Corbin, both of Burlington, Sister Lilliane Jodoin of the order of the Presentation of Mary in Methuen and Madeline Letourneau of Colchester, Vt.; three brothers, Richard Jodoin of Milton, Vt., and George Jodoin and Paul Jodoin, both of Burlington; 17 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Claire Lapointe, died in infancy, and a son, Francis Lapointe, died May 28, 2001.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Marguerite "Theresa" Jodoin Lapointe will be Wednesday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Leukemia Society of America through the funeral home.

She was also predeceased by a sister, Louise, and by two brothers, Ferdinand and Laurence. Mrs. Lapointe was a loving and devoted mother.
