James Francis Adams

September 16, 2005

James Francis Adams, 59, of 8255 Metto Road, Jacksonville, Fla., died Sept. 16 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Born in North Adams on Sept. 25, 1945, son of John and Anne Lynch Adams, he was a 1963 graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School and completed a drafting program at C.H. McCann Vocational Technical High School.

He moved to Jacksonville in 1999.

He was a member of the National Guard.

Mr. Adams was employed by Research Consultants. Before that, he worked for GE in Pittsfield for three years, and at Cornice Co. and at Motorola, both in Miami, for 10 years each.

While in North Adams, he was a communicant of St. Francis' Church.

Mr. Adams was a photographer and biker and enjoyed reading.

He leaves three sisters, Patricia Meichner of Holyoke, Mary Breault of Highland, N.Y., and Carol Kulpa of Manchester, Conn., and his longtime companion, Betty Grogan of Jacksonville.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for James Adams will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME For FUNERALS, Central Chapels, will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30. Donations may be made to the MSPCA in care of the funeral home.

Survivors also include brothers-in-law Frederick Meichner and Walter Kulpa; nieces Ellen Skoly, Kathleen Kulpa and Elizabeth Kulpa Sands; nephews Gregory, Gary and David Breault, and his beloved cat, Lola.
