Eva Marie Bush

Eva Marie Bush, 92, of 150 Ashland St. died yesterday afternoon at Williamstown Commons.

Born in Ford City, Ontario, on March 4, 1913, daughter of Narcisse and Sylvia Dupras Tessier, she attended schools in Clarksburg and the former Notre Dame School in North Adams. She also took courses at the former Bliss Business College and in gemology.

She later moved to New Bedford, returning to North Adams in 1988.

Mrs. Bush retired from the billing department of Berkshire Hathaway Corp. in New Bedford. She also had worked at the Acushnet Co. golf ball factory and Star Department Store, both in New Bedford.

She had first been employed at the former Beaver Mill, the former McKee tie factory, the former Gale Shoe Co. until it closed and as a buyer for the former McCraw & Tatro Women's Apparel Store until it, too, closed.

She then worked at Roberts Insurance Agency and, later, at Richard Gold Jewelers, both in Williamstown.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Ashland Park Tenants Association.

She leaves a son, retired North Adams Police Capt. Richard R. Bush of North Adams; three sisters, Blanche Martin of New Bedford, Claire Wilson of Jamesburg, N.J., and Louria Tessier of Bennington, Vt.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. A son, Harold L. Bush Jr., died Dec. 2, 1999.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Eva Bush, who died May 17, 2005, will take place tomorrow, May 19, at 9:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor.

Burial will be at a later date in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today, May 18, from 6 to 8. Donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include three grandsons, North Adams Police Officer Craig Bush, Dr. Martin Bush, DDS, and Philip Bush. Predeceased by a grandson, Michael Martin Bush, on Nov. 30, 1974; two brothers, Wilfred and Albert J. Tessier, and four sisters, Bertha Coutinho, Irene Sylvaria, Flora Hamelin and Theresa Rougeau.
