Sonny Ethel Nunes, 61, of 8 Rand St. died early yesterday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Feb. 11.
Born in Adams on July 29, 1943, daughter of Henry J. and Anna Mae Benjamin Baribeault, she attended Drury High School.
She lived in North Providence, R.I., for several years until returning to North Adams in 1991.
Mrs. Nunes was employed by the former Hunter Outdoor Products. She also worked at the former Doran's Bar.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a horseback rider, participating in several horse shows.
She leaves a son, John Fitzgerald Nunes of Higley, Ariz.; a daughter, Sherry Ann Nunes of North Providence; a brother, Donald Baribeault of North Adams; two sisters, Carol Bouchard of North Adams and Rona Rosenthal of Miami; her longtime companion, Stephen Brunetti Sr.; 14 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Sonny Ethel Nunes will be Saturday, March 5, 2005 from 2 to 4 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams.
Burial will be at a later date in Southview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. She leaves nieces and nephews and four stepchildren, Stephen Brunetti, Michael Brunetti, Anthony Brunetti and Joseph Brunetti.
A brother, Michael Grande, is deceased.
