NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Rita M. Moreau, 85, of 5 Navajo Drive died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at home.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 4, 1920, daughter of Joseph H. and Alice Moreau Allard, she was a graduate of the Commercial Program at the former Notre Dame School.
Mrs. Moreau had been employed for many years as a manager by the former Boston Store, retiring in 1982.
She was a longtime communicant of Notre Dame Church and later of St. Francis' Church. She was a devoted wife and caregiver to her late husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Her husband, Joseph E. Moreau, whom she married May 5, 1951, in Notre Dame Church, died June 14, 2003.
She leaves three sisters, Jeanne Zdon and Alice Kawa, both of North Adams, and Theresa Lamoureux of Lenox; two brothers, Rolland Allard of Lakewood, Colo., and Joseph Allard of Clearwater, Fla.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Wilfred, Conrad and Bernard Allard, and three sisters, Claire Rondeau, Rachel Jowett and Lucille LaBonte.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Moreau will be Saturday at 8:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Francis' Church through the funeral home.
