Shawn Michael Dobbert, 36, of 128 1/2 Cliff St. died yesterday at home after a long illness. Born in North Adams on Aug. 25, 1967, son of Robert F. Dobbert Sr. and Donna Supernant Dobbert of North Adams, he was a 1985 graduate of Drury High School.He also graduated from Newberry College in Boston with a degree in culinary arts.

Mr. Dobbert was employed as a cook at Linda's Cafe until leaving in 2001 because of poor health. He also had been employed for several years as an assistant for disabled children in North Berkshire County. He enjoyed hiking, walking and cross-country skiing and animals.

Besides his parents, he leaves a sister, Christine A. Dobbert of the town of Florida, and a brother, Robert F. Dobbert Jr. of North Adams. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Tina Stack Dobbert; a nephew, Michael Hubby Jr.; three nieces, Elizabeth A. Hubby, Kaitlyn H. Dobbert and MacKenzie J. Dobbert, and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Shawn Michael Dobbert, who died Aug. 10, 2004, will be Friday at 9 at St. John's Episcopal Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams will be Thursday from 4 to 7.

Memorial donations are suggested for North Adams Ambulance Service or the Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home.
