Ruth Elizabeth "Liz" Morey, 15, of 344 State Road died March 23 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield as a result of an automobile accident on Route 8 in Adams on March 21.
Born in Middletown, Conn., on July 14, 1988, daughter of Laurel Morey of North Adams and James Mathews of Georgia, she attended schools in Bennington, Vt., and moved to North Adams in October 2001.
She was in the ninth grade in the community transition program at Johnson School at the time of her death.
Miss Morey was employed for one year by the circulation department at The Berkshire Eagle.
She loved music and spending time with friends.
Besides her mother and her father, she leaves a sister, Sara Mathews of North Adams; her maternal grandfather, Will Morey of North Adams, and her paternal grandmother, Christine Mathews of Georgia.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ruth Elizabeth "Liz" Morey will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, by the Rev. Dennis Castella, pastor of Bethel Pentecostal Church of North Adams.
Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 to 3:30. Memorial donations are suggested through the funeral home. Survivors include an uncle, Army Spc. Mark Morey and his wife, Brandie Eubanks, and a cousin, Cohwen Morey, all in Germany.
She was predeceased by a sister, Kristen Mathews, on Nov. 29, 2001.
