NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lori Jean McDonough Lype, 43, of 10 Cherokee Drive died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at North Adams Regional Hospital shortly after being stricken at home.
Born in North Adams on June 30, 1960, daughter of Donna Lesure Strange Cyr of North Adams and the late Ralph E. Strange, she was a 1978 graduate of Drury High School.
She later attended Berkshire Community College and earned a bachelor of arts degree in business from Southern Vermont College in Bennington. She had resided in Glendale, Ariz., for nine years, returning to North Adams 10 months ago.
While in North Adams, she was a communicant of St. Francis' Church.
While in Arizona, she was an American Indian supporter.
Besides her mother, she leaves her husband, Anthony Lype of Glendale; a daughter, Shannah Lype of Glendale; her stepfather, Leo P. "Spike" Cyr of North Adams; a brother, Scott Strange of North Adams; a stepbrother, Stephen Cyr of North Adams; three sisters, Kelly Tatro of North Adams, Jodi Hudson of Rowley and Melissa Renzi of Lanesborough, and a stepsister, Jacqueline Andrews of Framingham.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Lype will be Thursday, Jan. 29, at 8 from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Shannah Lype Fund for her daughter, through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
