Margaret E. Bentley, 91, formerly of 103 Main St. died yesterday morning at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield.
She had resided at the former Edgecomb Nursing Home in Lenox before transferring to Hillcrest.
Born in North Adams on May 14, 1911, daughter of Michael and Sarah Smith Griffin, she graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Bentley was employed as an inspector with the former Strong-Hewat Co. in Clarksburg, retiring in 1966. She was a former communicant of St. Francis' Church.
Her husband, Jerold E. Bentley, whom she married Sept. 16, 1950, died in 1972. She leaves her caretaker and cousin, James J. Smith of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Margaret E. Bentley, 91, died Jan. 6, 2003, in Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9 at St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield by the Rev. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will take place in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis' Church in North Adams in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, which is in charge of the arrangements.
