Grace Rose Patenaude, 83, of St. Joseph's Court, 85 Eagle St., died Friday at home.
Born in North Adams on July 21, 1918, daughter of Dominic and Maria Colucci Benincasa, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Patenaude was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co., retiring in 1965. In her younger years, she was employed with Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates' Greylock division on State Road.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of its Rosary Society.
Her husband, Alfred August Patenaude, whom she married Sept. 4, 1937, died Oct. 7, 1965.
She leaves two sons, Alfred R. Patenaude Sr. of Becket and Richard A. Patenaude of North Adams; a grandson, and two great-grandchildren. Predeceased by four sisters and two brothers, Rose Cantoni, Catherine Rittmaier, Mary Gruszecki, Angela Miles, and Pasquale and Thomas Benincasa.
The funeral will be Tuesday, July 23, at 8:15 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at the St. Anthony of Padua parish center. Burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, July 22, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or St. Anthony's Church through the funeral home.
