Helen May Lightholder, 87, died Monday at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown, where she had resided since 1995.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 14, 1915, daughter of William J. and Venice A. Jepson Spencer, she was a 1932 graduate of Drury High School.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Adams.
Her husband, Stephen J. Lightholder, whom she married Dec. 28, 1941, died Feb. 25, 1986.
She leaves three sons, Stephen J. Lightholder Jr. of Barre, Vt., Alan W. Lightholder of LaGrange, Ga., and John R. Lightholder of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, Ruth McNicol-Herron of Williamstown; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 in the AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 No. Church St., North Adams. The Rev. Joseph DeCosta, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of the funeral.
