NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — David John Ritcher, 16, of Mohawk Forest Boulevard died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken earlier at home.
Born in Corona, Calif., on Jan. 3, 1986, son of John D. and Amy Michalenko Ritcher, he attended schools in southern California, Cottage Grove, Ore., and in North Adams. At the time of his death, he was a 10th-grade student at Poet Seat School in Greenfield.
He enjoyed role playing on the computer and reading science-fiction novels.
Besides his parents, he leaves a sister, Sarah Ritcher of North Adams; a brother, Joshua Ritcher of North Adams; his maternal grandparents, John V. Michalenko Sr. and Ann Bass Michalenko of North Adams, and his paternal grandfather, Robert E. Ritcher Sr. of Dorena, Ore.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Amber Davis Ritcher, who died in 2001.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Ritcher will be Thursday at 2 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7.
Memorial donations are suggested for the Poet Seat School in Greenfield through the funeral home.
