Helen Ina James, 54, of Ashland Street High Rise died Wednesday at New England Medical Center in Boston.
Born in New Ashford on Jan. 8, 1948, daughter of Garold T. and Violet Carr Packard, she attended schools there and in North Adams.
Mrs. James was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed baby-sitting.
Her husband, Albert Ernest James Sr., died in 1985.
She leaves two sons, Albert Ernest James Jr. of Woodford, Vt., and Richard L. James of Bennington, Vt.; a sister, Doris Mondia of North Adams; three brothers, John G. Packard and George A. Packard, both of North Adams, and Michael J. Packard of the town of Florida, and eight grandchildren.
The funeral took place yesterdayat 2 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial followed in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested in her memory through the funeral home.
