Thomas E. Richards, Jr., 83, of North Adams, MA, died January 26, 2026, at North Adams Commons. Born in North Adams on October 27, 1942, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Richards and the late Florence (Robert) Cummings.
Thomas attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. He worked at Williams College for 32 years as a Lead Custodian in the Athletic Complex before retiring in 2007. Thomas enjoyed a great number of activities and sports, including basketball, B&G softball, bowling, golfing, motorcross, motorcycling, racquetball, and volleyball. He also loved photography and traveling with his mother.
He leaves behind his son, Thomas Richards, III (Lisa), his daughter, Deborah Gibeau (Mark), and three grandchildren, his aunt Annette Duprat, uncle, Arthur Robert and cousins. He was predeceased by stepmother, Eileen Richards, and stepfather, John Cummings, aunt Irene Fischein and uncle Bernard Robert.
Funeral services for Thomas Richards will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 11:00 am at Flynn & Dagnoli CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall Street, North Adams. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to No Paws Left Behind, 69 Hodges Cross Rd, North Adams, MA 01247, or through the funeral home.
