NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Raymond "Bud" Earl Desjardin, Jr, 74, of North Adams passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025.
Ray was born in Milford on March 16, 1951 and was the first child of Raymond Earl Desjardin Sr and Stacia (Kusiak) Desjardin of Uxbridge, MA. He attended Uxbridge schools and graduated in 1970.
Ray loved to hunt and fish in his spare time and often was successful when he did. He worked various jobs throughout his life but enjoyed retirement the best. Upon his retirement, he moved to the Berkshires to be closer to his "greatest accomplishment," his daughter, Melissa.
He loved and adored her and they would text each other every day. Ray was very proud of his daughter, who was his pride and joy, and was exuberant when she and Derek Sumner blessed him with two amazing granddaughters, Morgan and Madison.
Ray lived at St. Joe's Court in North Adams and was active in helping out as much as he could in any way that he was needed. He leaves behind many friends from St. Joe's.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Melissa Desjardin (Derek Sumner), granddaughters, Morgan and Madison, of Stamford, VT; sisters Paula (Varge) Lubas and Linda LaPorte of Uxbridge, MA; brother Donald (Cathy) Desjardin of Uxbridge, MA; nieces and nephews Cheryl, Tanya, Michael, Dan, Joey, Andrew, and Jarred; Becky (Wright) Desjardin.
Ray was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Bruce LaPorte and long-time companion, Gail Secore.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the home of Melissa and Derek Sumner in Stamford, VT starting at 1 pm. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to the future endeavors of his granddaughters, Morgan and Madison Sumner, at Adams Community Bank, 31 Eagle Street, North Adams, MA 01247
