David A. Landry, born in North Adams, Massachusetts, and a long-time resident of Pelham, New Hampshire; passed away unexpectedly at home on June 30, 2025, at the age of 72.
David was raised in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School (Class of '71). He served his country in the United States Navy (1971–1975), where he honed many skills—including the colorful vocabulary of a sailor. Upon discharge, he graduated from Newbury College (Class of '77). It wasn't long after that he married, moved to New Hampshire and started his family.
David built his career as a Warehouse Manager at Purity Supreme Grocery before dedicating over 20 years to National Grid Electric, retiring at 62. To keep busy during retirement, he found joy in working at Scottish Highlands Golf Course in Salem, NH, blending what he considered to be wit and social charm with his love of golf. Yet, if you asked him, nothing compared to his most important and cherished role- being Dad.
David was a man of many interests. He was an avid sportsman who built his network of friends through golf as well as local softball, basketball, and bowling leagues. He felt "at home" on the water and loved to fish. He played the drums and thought of music as his solace—it wasn't just sound; it brought about a memory, a story, a feeling. He held a fascination for history, with an insatiable interest in Ancient Egypt. And while his life wasn't filled with world travel, he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of seeing the pyramids.
David wasn't a saint—but for those he was close to, he was kind, tender-hearted, and playful.
He leaves behind his wife, Martha (Liardo), and his children, Adam, Alicia, and Angela. He is also survived by his eight siblings: Linda, Ted, Paula, Dori, Peter, Mary, Marilyn, and Lisa. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Veronica (Fortini) Landry.
