Virginia White, 94

April 01, 2025

Virginia Mary (Bajorin) White, 94 of Leicester, MA died Tuesday April 1, 2025 at Notre Dame Longterm Care Center in Worcester, MA.

She was born in Worcester, MA on June 26, 1930, a daughter of Stanley and Mary (Crowley) Bajorin. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School and Elms College in Chicopee. Virginia earned her master’s degree from Worcester State College.

Virginia was a math teacher at Bay Path Vocational High School in Charlton for over 20 years until her retirement. She had been a communicant of St. Columba Church in Paxton and was a daily communicant of the Notre Dame chapel.

She was the widow of William Roland White who died on February 27, 1997. They were married on October 12, 1953. Survivors include her children, William J. White of Ithaca, NY; Jane White of Worcester, MA; David White of Uxbridge, MA; Pamela Richards and her husband Gary of Paxton, MA and Robert White and his wife Kim of Uxbridge, MA. Her daughter, Deborah White died in 2024. She also leaves five grandchildren including Michael Birkbeck, Christopher Birkbeck, Brandon Richards, Rommia White and Adam White and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers.

After graduation from Elms College, Virginia started a career in engineering at GE in Pittsfield, MA. But after meeting the love of her life on a tennis court at Worcester’s Lake Park, her true course was set. Marriage, passage on the Queen Elizabeth for a 3-month honeymoon in Italy led to a start in raising 6 children.

Always curious and interested in life and the arts, her passions of teaching, gardening – often inspired by Helen & Scott Nearing and “Living the Good Life” – award winning needlepoint, painting, framing, bookmaking and reading, inspired all those who knew her. Ginny sprung from mighty oaks that emigrated from Lithuania. She leaves an inspiring legacy carried by her devout Catholic faith.

At the beautiful home she created in Leicester, in her later years you’d find her joyfully attending to her gardens and living a “Monk’s life” as she called it, with a sense of humor and a ready laugh.
