Shirley Ann Fox, 94

Shirley Ann Fox, 94, of North Adams MA, passed away on March 18, 2025.



She was born on March 26, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA to Jacob L. and Anna E. (Shank) Fox and attended schools in Hatfield, PA. After graduating from Hatfield Consolidated High School, Shirley attended Penn State University for three years and then graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Microbiology in 1970. This degree led to internships and positions with New Providence Hospital in Washington, DC, in Athens GA and Sacred Heart Hospital in Morristown, PA. Shirley retired after 22 years with Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, FL. After moving North to New York in 1993, she finally settled in North Adams ten years later.Shirley was a communicant of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She enjoyed the outdoors through bicycling, swimming and walking.



Shirley leaves behind nieces and nephews, including Craig R. Fox (Marti) of Petersburg, NY. Patrica Reynolds of Dixon, TN, Timothy Reese (Mary) of Perkiomenville, PA. grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Jack V. Fox of Petersburg, NY and sister, Theresa Reese.



A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams on Wednesday March 26, 2025. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
