Winthrop M. "Buster" Todd Jr., 74

February 28, 2025

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Winthrop Major “Buster” Todd Jr, 74 of North Adams, MA died Friday February 28, 2025 at North Adams Commons.



He was born in North Adams, MA on May 5, 1950, a son of Winthrop Major Todd Sr and Martha Mae (Williams) Todd. He attended Drury High School.



Buster was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He later served in the Mass Army National Guard for many years.



He was employed by Modern Aluminum Anodizing for many years.



He was married Susan Doris (Gardner) Todd who died on September 1, 2024.



Survivors include one son, Winthrop Major “BJ” Todd III and his wife, Alexis of North Adams, MA and one daughter, Christie Duquette-Willaredt and her husband, Kory of Wesley Chapel, FL; and his stepchildren, Greg, Walter, Heather, Beau, Amber and Ebony Alexander and their spouses. He also leaves several grandchildren; four sisters including Winifred Alexander of North Adams, MA; Joann Trice of Louisa, VA; Susan McMillian of North Adams, MA and Patricia Todd of North Adams, MA; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Winthrop Major Todd Sr and Martha Todd; sister, Bonnie Parsons and his brothers, Andrew Todd and Gary Todd.

Buster and I served together in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and remained friends long after he finished his enlistment. I would run in to him frequently and he always took the time the to say hello and talk for little while. I will miss seeing him.

My condolences go out to BJ and the Entire Family.So sorry for your loss. Buster was a good friend of mine.I was always talking with him in the morning when he would go on his walks by MCLA which was every day which I will truly miss. I also Served with him in the Army National Guard for years.. My thoughts and Prayers are with All of Buster's Family & Friend's He will be truly missed. Rest in peace my brother.

My condolences to the Todd Family. Although I didn't know Buster as well or as long as others.I met Buster as he was friends with my Dad before my Dad passed. Buster was always seen walking around town and gathering with friends in the Spitzer Center Parking lot.I am glad to have met him. May he rest in peace

It was always a treat to run into him in town and catch up.
