NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Rose Marie (Sullivan) Thomas, 86 of North Adams, MA died on Wednesday February 5, 2025 at her home.
She was born in North Adams, MA on August 13, 1938, a daughter of Thomas Joseph Sullivan and Mary Agnes (Breda) Sullivan. She attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School.
Rose worked at the former Sprague Electric Co for many years. She was a longtime active volunteer at Mass MoCA. Rose Marie not only served Mass MoCA as a loyal usher and volunteer, but was, as an audience member, a revered and beloved member of the Bang on a Can Summer Festival. She would arrive early to concerts to find her way to the center of the front row. This summer at the festival, that runs from July 14th to August 2nd, that front row center seat will remain reserved for Rose Marie in memoriam and affection. She was the widow of Norman Joseph Thomas who died on August 27, 2014. They were married on June 13, 1963. Survivors include two sisters, Tamy A. Raina of Williamstown, MA and Carla (Robert) Marceau of Pownal, VT and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother in law, Kenneth Raina.
