NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —
Mrs. B. Wanda (Walczyk) Dzbenski, 93 of North Adams, passed away Wednesday evening, March 6, 2024 at Williamstown Commons.
She was born in Podgorze, Poland on September 10, 1930, a daughter of the late Antoni and Helena Walczyk, and attended schools in Poland. She married her late husband Marian Dzbenski on June 27, 1953. He died on May 17, 2005.
Wanda and Marian emigrated to the United States from Poland in 1966 to give their four children a better life. Leaving behind their extended family was difficult for them, but they embraced their new and better world.
A seamstress by trade, Wanda last worked at the former Waverly Fabrics in Adams until retiring, Earlier, she worked at the former Hunter Outdoor Products Co. in North Adams.
She is survived by two sons, Thaddeus “Ted” Dzbenski (Julie) of Cheshire, and Joseph Dzbenski (Janice) of Adams; two daughters, Teresa Jajko (Fred) of Cheshire, and Krystyna Dzbenski of Asheboro, NC; her grandchildren Adam Jajko (Danielle), Derick Jajko (Alicia), Mark Dzbenski (Kim), Mary Dzbenski, and Nathan Dzbenski (Kendal); her great grandchildren Dillon Dzbenski, Logan Jajko, Riley Jajko, Jensen Dzbenski and Callen Dzbenski; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 12th at 10:00 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd. Waltham, MA 02452, or at www.alz.org
