Marguerite "Marge" Drake, 93

NORTH ADAMS-  Marguerite “Marge” (Bissaillon) LaBonte Drake, 93 of North Adams, MA. died Monday February 12, 2024 at Williamstown Commons.



She was born in North Adams on January 27, 1931 a daughter of Homer and Ceceila (Lavoie) Bissaillon. Marge attended the former Notre Dame School and graduated from Drury High School. He was involved in the operations of the family business E. Sherwood Variety Store in Becket, MA. with her late husband Frederick Martin Drake until they sold the business in 1976 and moved to North Adams.



She was last employed at Excelsior Printing Company in North Adams. Marge was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church and a former communicant of Our Lady of Incarnation both in North Adams. Her husband Frederick Martin Drake whom she married June 10, 1968 in Richmond, MA. died March 28, 1983.



Marge enjoyed crocheting, making children happy, buying treats for everyone and puzzle books. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. While a resident of Williamstown Commons she loved looking out of her window to view the seasonal decorations that her son created for her enjoyment.



Survivors include her loving son Christopher Martin LaBonte and his friend Barbara of Cheshire, MA; grandchildren Jessica Markel, Matthew LaBonte and his wife Kellie.



Marge also leaves five great-grandchildren, brother Louis “Duke” Bissaillon of Idaho, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by brother Joseph Bissaillon and three great grandchildren.



A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams, MA. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, M. are Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.  Memorial donations are suggested for St. Elizabeth Church or to The St. Jude Childrens Hospital through the funeral home. We’re so sorry to see Marge has passed away, Sue and I worked with her for years, she was an absolute sweetheart. Our hearts and prayers go out to Marge’s family, she will be sadly missed.
