NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Adelia “Dale” Foote, 92 of North Adams died Saturday April 22, 2023 in the Williamstown Commons after a long illness.
Dale was born in North Adams on October 22, 1930, a daughter of Vito and Cesarina (Zerra) Cilli. She attended local schools and graduated from Drury High and later attended beauty school in Worcester, MA.
She is predeceased by her husband, Peter D. Foote (2010) as well as their son, Peter D. Foote Jr. (2006) , and two grandsons, Peter D. Foote III (1991) and Thomas Foote (1996).
Dale operated her own beauty salon, Cilli’s Beauty Shop, on Walnut Street in North Adams with her sister, Lydia for many years until the mid nineties when she retired. During that time she also earned her cosmetology instructors certificate and occasionally took substitute teaching assignments. But Adelia’s great joy in life was both her immediate and extended family. She enjoyed caring for, hosting and visiting with all her nieces and nephews and their children and caring for her grandchildren.
Dale is survived by her daughter, Gail Foote and her husband Bradford George, of Whitinsville MA, her son, Robert Foote and his wife, Karen Tassone Foote, of Adams, MA, her daughter in law Jacqueline Tierney Foote of Pittsfield as well as her granddaughter, Michaela Tierney Foote of Virginia, and Kyle and Kristopher Magargal of Pittsfield, MA.
Dale was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Lydia Cilli of North Adams, Mary Giansante of Clinton MA, Rose Hopkins of Readsboro VT, Lorraine Gadbois of North Adams, Dorothy Guillotte of West Springfield, Anthony Cilli of Williamstown, and Orlando and John Cilli of North Adams. The family would like to thank the staff at the Williamstown Commons for their expert care as well as Hospice of Pittsfield.
Funeral Notice: The funeral for Dale Foote will be Thursday April 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA.
