Rosario Thomas "Russ" Cantoni III , 62 of North Adams died Tuesday March 21, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in North Adams on January 22, 1961 a son of the late Rosario Thomas Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Maxwell) Cantoni.
Russ attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from Mt. Greylock Regional High School where he played football. He was employed at certified nursing assistant.
Russ was a devoted son, father and grandfather and a friend to all.
Survivors include his loving daughter April Cantoni of Adams and grandchildren Izaha Stubbs, Savanna Stubbs and Aria Caldwell. He also leaves four brothers Richard Cantoni (Stacey), John Dow (Cindy), Gary Dow (Lynn), Robert Dow (Barbara) and his beloved dog Blaze and his two cats, many nieces, a nephew and three stepchildren.
Calling hours to celebrate the life of Russ Cantoni will take on Tuesday April 4, 2023 from 4-6p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.

It is with great sadness we learned of Russ’ passing. Russ played football for John at Mt. Greylock. And then many years later, they coached together at Drury. Russ was a kind and caring man from a wonderful family!Love and deepest sympathy,

I met Russ some years back, always great conversation. Very kind and respectful to me. Saw him last at Walmart, after hearing him call my name, it was nice to see him again, and to chat awhile. He was his jovial self as usual. Sad to know that he is gone, but his memory will always live jn in his family, friends, and pets lives. The challenges he endured are over, and he is at peace. God love you all.

I have know Russ for many years, went to his wedding with Bob DiVergilio and Douglas Talburt. Russ was a friend to all. He was there when Bob and Doug moved here from Baltimore. Have spoken to him every once in a while through the years. He was a special guy and he was so proud of you and all his grandkids..... My heart breaks for you.
