NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Michael Arthur Boyer, 79 of North Adams, MA died on Monday, August 15, 2022 at his home.
He was born in North Adams, MA on June 17, 1943, the son of Arthur Joseph and Loretta (Peloquin) Boyer. Michael attended Bennington Catholic School and continued his education graduating in 1969 from Ottawa University where he played football.
Michael was a Physical Education teacher for thirty-six years at Mt. Anthony High School in Bennington. He coached all levels of football at the Jr. High and Varsity levels. Michael was also the head coach for the McCann High School football team.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Gail Marie (Leonesio) Boyer. He will be missed by his children, Tracey Lynn (Robert) Debrocke of Methuen, MA and Matthew (Melissa) Boyer of Bridgewater, MA and his four grandchildren Logan and Avery Debrocke and Reid and Jax Boyer. Michael also leaves a sister, Elise B. Beverly of Auburn, MA and a brother Robert C. Boyer of Fredericksburg, VA.
NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mike Boyer will be celebrated Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. A calling hour will be held Friday morning from 10:00-11:00 AM, AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Michael’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Vincent DePaul Conference at St. Elizabeth Church in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR S CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
