Barbara Garling (Karl), 84

April 20, 2022

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Formerly of North Adams, and Sierra Vista, Ariz. 84, passed on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Born in North Adams, on Oct. 15, 1937, she was the daughter of Ernest and Margaret Briggs.

Barbara spent her life caring not only for her family but so many others. She raised five sons and was a nanny to others. She loved God and always looked for ways to help others. Whether taking little ones on picnics to the ocean or park, a hug when needed or just a kind word.

She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and mother-in-law, a grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, a cousin and a friend. Words cannot describe the love and impact she made on so many lives during her time here on earth. Although

she was like a pebble thrown in a pond, the ripples she left continue and will continue to pass the blessings and love on.

She is survived by her sister Florence Armstrong, her 5 sons: Bill, Wayne and his wife Kim, Warren and his wife Annette, Curt and his wife Lori, Jimmy and his wife Lorraine. 14 Grandchildren/great-grandchildren, and so many others from the East Coast to the West Coast and the Philippines.

The family will be conducting several private memorial services around the country where Barbara has lived. Her family request in lieu of flowers donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer's research foundation, and just pass love, kindness and forgiveness on to others.
