NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Catherine Theresa (Ferrara) Giguere, 105, of North Adams died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at North Adams Commons.

Catherine was born on March 13, 1916 in North Adams a daughter of the late, Salvatore & Virginia (Sebastino) Ferrara. She attended local schools until the 8th grade. Catherine worked at Woonsocket Jewelry in Woonsocket, RI, Sprague Electric Company, North Adams Regional Hospital and was last employed by cascade school supplies.

Catherine was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and enjoyed cooking and exercising. She was the widow of Herve O. Giguere who died on August 16, 1997. They were married on June 14, 1940 at St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Catherine leaves her daughter, Donna Lavigne of North Adams and her 3 grandchildren including, David Lavigne and John Lavigna of Bradenton, FL and Jeff Lavigne of North Adams. She also leaves 5 great grandchildren, Tyler, Sarah, Jonathan, Christopher, Michael and Selena as well as many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Salvatore “Babe” Ferrara and Gloria Anderson. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marion Demastrie and Dolores “Laddie” Conti, and brothers, Frank Ferrara, Thomas Ferrara, Alfred Ferrara, and Gennara Ferrara.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Catherine Giguere will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
