Allen F. Field, 89

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —Allen Floyd Field, 89 of North Adams, MA died on Saturday August 7, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center. He had been a resident of North Adams Commons where he contracted Covid-19.



was born in North Adams, MA on March 8, 1932, a son of Floyd H. Field and Alexena (LaBonte) Field. was raised by his grandmother, Agnes Field. attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School.



Allen was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Army as a combat medic.



He worked at Morrison Berkshire and James Hunter Machine Co. for many years until his retirement. Allen enjoyed dancing and fishing and was well known for telling good jokes.



His wife was Joan Charlotte (Borowski) Field who died on October 8, 1993. They were married on December 31, 1955. Survivors include one daughter- Lori A. Field of North Adams, MA and four sisters- June Holcomb of Worthington, MA; Peggy Slade of Clarksburg, MA; Joanne Lalonde of Anthony, FL and Kathleen Crawford of Danbury, CT; and one brother- John Field of Florida, MA. He also leaves his companion of many years- Dolores Girard and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sisters in law including William and Dorothy Borowski, Sylvia Sadlowski, Phyllis King and Robert Groves.



FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Allen Field will be Wednesday August 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday morning from 10-11 at the funeral home. The family asks that masks be worn for the services at the funeral home. I am so sorry about your dad passing Lori. He was a wonderful man. Full of life. I have wonderful memories of him from when we were young. Keep your head up and remember he is a angel looking over you now. Again, I am very sorry.🙏🙏❤️

I'm so sorry again for your loss...I remember when I first meant Al...it was at burger chef years ago...and it was because I told him he had a nice car....from there on we became friends...Al will be missed by many.....payers and hugs.
