Recollections & Sympathy For the Family

The wonderful, positive differences Shirley made in every person's day anytime they might come into the office, created a lasting effect in hundreds and hundreds of lives at BCC. Her attitude of "YES!" continues to be both an example of how to treat all people and a tribute to her spirit.

I worked with Shirl for many years in the Registrar’s Office at BCC. She helped so many achieve their goals and always had an ear for students who needed to talk. I have fond memories of meeting Shirl and her husband John for breakfast prior to the fall foliage parade. She was a lot of fun; miss you Shirl.

Goodbye Aunt Shirley. To steal a lyric and cliche, "It certainly was a long and winding road" for you. You had an effect on many through those years on that road.

I've known Shirley for most of my life starting in 1st grade at the 1st Methodist church. She faced many health challenges in her life, the most severe of which was polio. Still she accomplished so much. Sincere condolences to her family.

I do remember Shirley. When I worked in the Central Advising Office/Academic Advising Office at BCC. She was always very helpful when I would uncover a transcript that was in need of a fix, often two transcripts that needed to be combined, and she seemed to know everybody and was a pleasure to go visit. Her husband John was also a very pleasant person and very helpful.
