Dorothy Cecile (Lisee) Varuzzo, 98, of North Adams died on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield. Dorothy was born in Attleboro, MA on July 4, 1922 a daughter of the late Adelard & Mary (Kaminski) Lisee. Dorothy worked extensively at the Arnold Print Works, and she later retired from Waverly Fabrics in Adams with many years of service. She loved to cook and bake especially cakes. She enjoyed going to the casinos mostly with her brother George, where she always seemed to win. She had a specially affinity with her dog, Harley who she both loved and cursed.
Dorothy could entertain anyone who would listen to her childhood exploits; especially about her best friend Sophie living in the brick blocks in Adams. She gave willingly of her time, to raise her teenage boys, bringing them to games and practices which were many times in different places and times. Her husband Gerald E. Varuzzo whom she married August 4, 1945 died October 4, 2002.
Survivors include her three sons, Gerald J. Varuzzo of North Adams, Michael J. Varuzzo (Lisa) of North Adams, and Dennis E. Varuzzo of Turners Falls, MA. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jennifer Beer, Ashley Varuzzo, Andrew Varuzzo, Tony Varuzzo, Gina Varuzzo and Bobby Jo Gallagher; as well as great grandchildren, Alyssa, Lukas, Carson, Rylander, Abigail Beer, David Atwell and Brayden Lampiasi. She also leaves a brother, George Lisee of Adams and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter in laws, Linda Varuzzo and Wendy Varuzzo, a sister, Irene Charbonneau, brothers, Edward Lisee and Norman Lisee.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services will take place Wednesday May 26, 2021 at 11 AM at the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Ambulance Service through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA.
