Jeannette Irene Cady, 78, of 253 Mohawk Forest Boulevard died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in North Adams on March 22, 1923, daughter of Felix and Minnie Rondeau Roberts, she attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School and graduated from Drury High School.
She was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 30 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1987.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and had volunteered with the Gray Ladies at North Adams Regional Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Sprague Electric Quarter Century Club and enjoyed traveling and knitting.
Her husband, Harold B. Cady, is deceased.
She leaves a daughter, Janet I. Blasioli of Pittsfield; a brother, Norman A. Roberts of Williamstown; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 19, at 9:15 from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, Jan. 18, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to the American Diabetes Foundation through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
