Grace DiGennoro, 90

Grace C. DiGennoro, 90, of North Adams, peacefully died Friday February 26, 2021 at the home of her daughter and son in-law Lisa and Robert Mazzu on Woodlawn Ave. in North Adams. She was born in Bari, Italy on March 17, 1930, the daughter of the late Carlo and Antoinette Columbo. She attended schools in Italy and bravely immigrated to the United States in 1953. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker and was an excellent cook who welcomed all with open arms and a fork. Grace, constantly comforted by her strong faith, was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.
Her husband Felix DiGennoro died on January 7, 1977. Survivors include four daughters Antoinette DiGennoro, Angela Giroux and her husband Leonard, Lisa Mazzu and her husband Robert, and Grace Morris and her husband Shane. She also leaves three grandchildren Maria Mazzu, Michael Mazzu, and Alyssa Giroux. She was predeceased by a daughter Caroline DiGennoro. Grace’s tenacity and strength, which remained through her last days, was admired by many and her selflessness was recognized by all. She was deeply loved and never failed to make those around her laugh with her.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 6, 2021 at 10AM at St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams MA. Calling Hours are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for Hospice Care of the Berkshire's through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA.
