Linda Jean Giardina, 47, of 125 North St. died Monday at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, where she was admitted Nov. 3. Death followed a brief illness.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 5, 1953, daughter of Bernadette Giguere Ford of North Adams and the late Frank Michael Ford Jr., she attended North Adams schools, including the former St. Joseph Parochial School, and she graduated from former St. Joseph High School in 1971.
For the past year, Mrs. Giardina was employed with the Sweetbrook Nursing Home in Williamstown. Prior to that, she had been employed for more than 10 years with the Novtex Corp.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Besides her mother, with whom she resided, she leaves two daughters, Elisa Giardina at home and Sara Jean Giardina of Pittsfield; a sister, Mary Anne Ferrara of Bradenton, Fla., and one grandson.
Funeral services will take place Friday, Nov. 16, at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, at 9 a.m. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, 1270 Massachusetts Ave., North Adams. Burial in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations suggested for Right to Life through the funeral home.
