Mildred J. Grandchamp, 94

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mildred J. (Dennis) Grandchamp, 94, of North Adams died Monday, November 28, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center.



She was born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., on December 25, 1921, daughter of Royce Landon and Ada (Kirby) Dennis. She attended schools in Hoosick Falls. 



Millie lived and worked for a time in Bennington, Vt. She then met and married Louis Frederick Grandchamp on March 21, 1941, and moved to North Adams. She worked at Clark Biscuit Co and then at Sprague Electric. She was last employed as a private housekeeper.



She was a communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. Millie enjoyed cooking and shopping. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and she especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.



She was the widow of Louis Frederick Grandchamp, who died on May 6, 1984.  



Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Jean Shippee of Chester, Mass., and Gail A. Grandchamp of North Adams; two sons, Raymond L. Grandchamp of Pittsfield and Robert R. Grandchamp of North Adams; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Edna Robinson and Shirley Moses of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., and Hazel Wheaton of Pennsylvania; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.



She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Luscier.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Millie Grandchamp will be celebrated Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.  Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.  



Calling hours are Friday, December 2, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
