NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lawrence Allen Osterhout, 74, of North Adams, formerly of West Stockbridge, died Thursday, October 6, at Berkshire Medical Center.



Born in Pittsfield on June 6, 1942, he was the son of the late Ellis and Bernice Vosburgh Osterhout. Lawrence was educated in the Pittsfield school system and was a 1960 graduate.



After graduation Mr. Osterhout went to work for the Schweitzer Paper Company and retired in 2003.



Mr. Osterhout leaves behind his daughter, Deanna Hillard of North Adams, with whom he made his home; two brothers, Edward Osterhout of Richmond and Robert Osterhout of West Stockbridge; five sisters, Irene Williams of Dalton, Beverly Latimer of Richmond, Ellen Hall of Pittsfield, Karen Buratto of Lee and Dorothy Barnes of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, Bobby, Michael, Zachary, Bailey, Kaylyn, Caleb and Evan; and two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Karsen.



Besides his parents, Mr. Osterhout was predeceased by his sister, Judy Hayford.



Funeral notice: Visiting hours for Lawrence A. Osterhout will be Thursday, October 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. At the family’s request there will be no funeral services.
